What are Muscle Activation Techniques?

Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) helps alleviate muscle and joint pain that so many of us experience while doing the sports and activities we enjoy. Combining a range of motion analysis, biomechanical assessment, and unique muscle therapy, MAT restores your body’s alignment, resulting in pain-free movement and increased performance levels.

MAT targets pain at its roots. Inhibited muscles cause your body to compensate and become misaligned, resulting in pain or injury. Repeating an exercise program or other physical activity with inhibited muscles can magnify your body’s compensation patterns, making the problem worse.

MAT re-activates your muscles to function properly, eliminating the root of your pain, not just your symptoms, so you are ready to enjoy the exercise and activites you used to do. Whether you are an athlete, youth playing sports, baby boomer or senior, MAT can help you live, work and play at your best: pain-free.

What is Motor Control Restoration?

Motor control restoration is based upon understanding the fundamental movement abilities that we all share which start with sensory motor signaling established along bones, joints, and all different tissues in the body. The more optimal the brain can converse between these different areas will define the quality of movement and whether has the capability to function and regulate the brain/cognition to activate and coordinate the muscles and limbs involved in the performance of a motor skill.

What is Posturology?

Posturology is a technique that focuses on how the CNS gathers information through different sensors located at the FEET, EYES, SKIN AND JAW.
All structural muscular and movement input all starts with a sensory response, but if there is any disruption of sensory input then our bodies begin to adapt or compensate which leads to tightness pain and eventually injury.

So it’s my job to make sure that your sensors are all functioning optimally and at the same time your help the body understand how to create and control the (motor) information to your muscles so that you can provide the most stability for your structure and joints as well as sequence the best motor and movement patterns to handle the every day stresses we deal with in a day gym or on the field. Learn how to integrate movement!

How often do I have to see you?

Each session with me is like a class lecture specific to dissecting your individual physical needs. The body is constantly searching for balance and a way to function without pain, and it will constantly search and find an option for a compensatory position, muscular contraction, or patterning which will create the least amount of pain, so if you have chronic pain you may benefit to weekly or monthly sessions so that you can gather the tools necessary to develop optimal function and a balanced system.

What can I expect from a session with Glen?

Whether you have chronic pain, or if you have a fitness plateau whether you seeing Glen for pain whether  you are seeing Glen to be fit the first five minutes of every session will involve a synopsis of how you feel physically, each day is going to be different, we do t do the same movement everyday nor do we orchestrate the same movements the same way everyday, by listening to each individual helps me build a plan as well as it helps the individual gain a sense of self.

What makes me different?

I have accumulated tools that I have been able to combine together and create a system that helps address all the factors of movement. This allows me to understand, educate, and empower each client with their own knowledge and tools to help them feel confident in their positioning, technique, and execution of movement in activities of daily living or in relation to any fitness regime.

Who can I help?

Any one who has joint tightness, pain, numbness, structural asymmetries, poor muscular contractile capabilities and tolerance, motor control development and body control, rehab and fitness organization, exercise program planning, balance/strength/endurance/speed/power/agility/reaction/ coordination.
